This is the first summer when the kids don’t have definite plans on what to do. I am thinking if I should take them to music lessons. But we don’t even have the best yamaha np31 player let alone a piano organ in the house. I doubt they will like to play without a musical instrument at home.

The best alternative would be to allow the kids to go with their swimming lessons and then have the kids enroll in advanced classes for the school year.

There are good reasons to go gender neutral for your child’s room. There’s the practical: You have a boy and a girl sharing one room and you want to avoid WWIII. You don’t want to redecorate again when child #2 comes along (let alone #3, #4….). Or, you’re waiting until the actual birth to reveal your babe’s sex. There’s also the philosophical: You want your child to decide what they like, without preconceived notions of what’s considered appropriate for girls versus boys.

SOFT NEUTRALS
Use soft muted tones, like grey and beige, instead of the standard blue and pink. To avoid boring, layer in lots of texture and natural materials like wood furniture, soft curtains, fluffy pillows and rugs.

PRIMARY COLORS
Primary colors make for lively children’s rooms, without the normal gender associations. Control the color doses, and preserve your sanity, with basic white or black walls as the backdrop.

OPPOSITES
Balance warm and cool hues across the board. There’s no reason why a kid can’t have both.

My daughter is going to be starting first grade. With all the adjustments because of the K+12 program of the Department of Education, teachers say it will be a huge adjustment. My daughter’s school is hiring new teachers and performing background checks at easybackgrounds.com to cope up with the workload.
I hope the adjust well and it will be a great time for them.

Origami is a popular yet underrated hobby that is making a breakthrough in today’s arts and crafts scene. It’s relaxing, rewarding, and the finished products can make fantastic decorations. The things you create will be one of a kind, and it’s unlikely that you will find anything in stores that resembles what you have done. That’s the great thing about origami. It is always different, and you can make anything from beginning creations to advanced things that require in-depth paper folding techniques. Many people even find this activity useful as a stress reliever. Folding, creasing, bending, and shaping the paper in specific steps can greatly reduce stress and provide a peaceful activity that you can enjoy.

What exactly is Origami?

Origami is the simple act of folding paper several times, into several shapes. Each fold must be creased, and it needs to remain stiff to the touch. After several folds, the paper starts to resemble whatever creation you are working on. Flowers and animals are very common themes that people use in origami. The world is your oyster when it comes to origami. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will be able to make everything from simple butterflies to amazing multi-coloured parrots and toucans. The process is simply amazing, and it is really quite interesting to watch. Although it looks incredibly easy, it is harder than it looks. You have to be really meticulous to get the creases exactly right. It is an art that is truly worth mastering, and it is one of the most rewarding tasks you can hope to accomplish in the arts and crafts world.

Practice Makes Perfect with Origami

Origami takes several attempts usually before you can create your first completed piece. Expect many failed attempts before you finally master something beautiful, because it takes time to learn. You should start small with an easy project, so that you don’t get discouraged. You should also have plenty of extra origami paper on hand if you are just starting out, because you will likely make plenty of mistakes until you figure out how to master the techniques. Many people take origami classes, so that they can be shown first hand how to create paper sculptures. With step-by-step lessons, and many messed up paper balls later, you will be able to master the art of origami. Practice makes perfect, and you will do well if you stick with the classes to learn.

Complete bathroom updates can often be budget busters due to the high cost of accessories, fixtures, or other essentials. If you want to remodel your bathroom on a budget, then there are a few things you are able to do.

Clear the Room

Any updates done to a bathroom will require a blank canvas. This means you need to remove all items from the room so it will be easier to clean. Make sure to take shelving, towel racks, and pictures off the walls.

Use Paint

Adding a new coat of paint to the walls is an easy and cheap way to update your bathroom. This gives you a new canvas for pictures and shelving for decorations. If your bathroom is small, then white is the best color choice. However, any light color can be used to make your bathroom feel warm. You need to tape off trim and anything else that will not be painted. A gallon of paint costs less than $25 and a roller costs about $5. Painters tape will cost you an additional $5.

Reuse the Vanity

Vanities used in a bathroom can be expensive to replace. You may also need to replace the sink. If your budget is limited, then refurbish the vanity instead of replacing it. If the vanity is made of wood, then it can be easily sanded and painted with a new color. Stain or varnish can also be used if you so not want to use paint. Another option is to replace the faucet and hardware on the vanity.

New Tiles

The addition of new paint to your bathroom means that the floor may seem outdated. You can change a bathroom in your home by installing a new tile floor. The most common type of tile used for flooring in a bathroom is vinyl and ceramic. These tile choices are water resistant and easy to keep clean. Tiles that you can install in your bathroom can be found at any home improvement store for less than $3 per square foot.

Adding Storage

Small bathrooms often have limited storage. If you want to add more storage solutions to the bathroom in your home, then consider stackable shelves. These can be placed under a counter and a pedestal sink to store towels and other items. Another option is to attach a shoe organizer to the back of the door. If a shower or tub lacks shelving, then consider adding shower caddies. Adding extra storage will cost you less than $40.

Update Accessories

The use of accessories is a great way to make a bathroom feel warm and comfortable. You may want to add new window treatments, pictures, and even a new shower curtain. Another option is to add flowers in glass jars or interesting looking vases. Make sure that you remove existing clutter before adding new accessories to the room.

Additional Information

Inexpensive options for your bathroom can be found at a thrift store or by looking for any discontinued and heavily discounted items.

Installing your own flat-pack kitchen allows you to fully customize your options. Each piece will need to be put in place separately as they are fitted together like a big puzzle. The pieces that are included in the kitchen are part of a kit that is sent to you from the manufacturer. If you have ordered all the pieces of a new flat-pack kitchen, then follow a few tips for proper placement and assembly.

Food Storage

This area of a flat-pack kitchen will include the refrigerator and pantry. You should try to set the pantry or a cabinet next to the refrigerator. However, this is not always possible. The benefit of having the two close together is convenience when putting food away and obtaining needed ingredients. The ingredients in the food storage area need to be easy to move to and from the preparation area.

Cooking Area

The cooking area of a flat-pack kitchen includes the stove or oven. This appliance will need to be close to the sink to dump pots or fill them with water. You will also need to have a staging area next to ovens and stoves for any hot dishes and pots. The microwave should also be located directly above stove tops for easy access. Make sure the microwave is no higher than eye-level.

Serving Area

One of the most used areas of a kitchen is the serving area. This area will need to be located next to the cook top or stove top on the opposite side of the sink for ease of use. You may also add storage to keep all your plates, serving dishes, and cutlery. The serving area should be easily accessible to the cook and people who are preparing their meal.

Cleaning Area

The cleaning area of a flat-pack kitchen is the location of the dishwasher and sink. The dishwasher can be separate from the location of the sink, if needed. You can also incorporate the cleaning area with the preparation area or have a completely separate area. However, you need to make sure the flow between each area work without any issues.

Other Areas

A flat-pack kitchen may require additional work areas, a prep area, and even a baking area. You need to create any additional areas that are required to meet all your needs. The goal for other areas that are added to the kitchen is function. However, there areas should not interfere with the main areas included in the kitchen design. Extra areas of the kitchen will need to share common elements, such as counters and appliances.

Additional Information

Installing a new flat-pack kitchen can often be done over a long weekend. One full day will be required to remove items from your old kitchen. The pieces for the new kitchen will take one to two days if your kitchen area does not need other updates, such as new paint and flooring. Tools needed to complete this project will include a power drill, a level, and a pencil.

I am on a look out for an ergonomic chair for my workstation. I have come to realize that foam chair pads won’t do the trick anymore. I sit on that chair for more than 8 hours a day. I work from home so my workstation is where I spend most of my time.

Lately I have been noticing I couldn’t stand sitting on my chair for even a short period of time without my lower back aching. I knew I needed to switch chairs as soon as possible.

You should think about a number of things when buying the right chairs for your office. Here are some of them.

Back Support

Many office workers suffer from backache because of sitting for long hours. A chair with good back support should help minimise the odds of developing backache. The chair should also have the right back height to provide the necessary back support. Choose chairs with adjustable backs so you can easily change backrest’s height. This way, the user will get the necessary support for their backs. The back part of the chair should also have a shape that fits the curves of the user’s back well.

Seat Height Adjustment

Other than adjustable back rest height, a good office chair should also have adjustable overall height. The best computer chair should work for users of different heights. This is not just important in reducing strain in the back, but also in the arms and neck.

Armrest Adjustment

Armrests also play an important role in providing the necessary comfort for office workers. Good armrests should provide comfort for the arms, shoulders, and neck. Choose chairs with armrests that are adjustable in terms of their height and position. This feature lets you have the most desirable position and height of the armrests for a more comfortable sitting.

In today’s world it seems to be more and more important to hold on to what you’ve got, to limit waste and keep items in the house that you may be able to reuse or recycle later on, rather than forking out your hard earned cash for new items after throwing out your old ones once finished with.

Unfortunately, this can mean a lot of clutter and dwindling space in your household. Here’s how to strike the perfect balance between being able to hold on to your just-in-case jumble without the walls closing in.

Look Up

It’s easy to limit your idea of storage space to drawers, cupboards and wardrobes, so high-up spaces are often overlooked but can be very valuable for space saving. Make use of spaces above doorways, for example, where you can install a shelf to store items that you don’t often use.

Using ceiling space in cupboards and wardrobes is a great way to store seasonal items like gift wrapping or Christmas decorations – install beams or shelves in the ceiling to keep these items out of sight but still handy.

Dual Purpose Furniture

Furniture that has more than one function is a great way to save space and avoid clutter. Sofa beds are a good example, as is using a storage trunk as a coffee table or bench seating. Beds with storage underneath is another simple way to maximise storage space, especially for kids’ rooms.

There are lots of childrens bunk bedsthat combine clever storage space with cosy beds. Bunk beds are also perfect space savers for kids who share the same bedroom as they allow for much more floor space than two single beds.

Vacuum Packing

Vacuum packing bags are now available at lots of department stores, storage shops and online. They’re perfect for sorting your wardrobe out by season and they save so much space, shrinking your bag of clothes to a much more manageable package and creating lots more space in the cupboard for the clothes you use on a daily basis.

You can pack all your winter clothes away for the summer, or store those old baby clothes away if you think you or a family member might need them again in years to come.

Hang it Up

Hanging space is an ideal way to incorporate vertical storage into your home, which is an efficient way to make the most of your space.

Hangers and racks that attach to the backs of doors are one clever way to use vertical storage, for example, store all your shoes in a hanging shoe organiser that attaches to the back of your wardrobe door, or hang a rack from the bathroom door that contains all your bathroom essentials like your hairdryer, spare handtowels and soap, or cleaning products.

In the kitchen, using hanging space for pots, pans and other utensils will free up cupboard space, and in the garage hanging up bikes and sorting equipment from the ceiling will maximise your floor space.

Stackable Storage

While stackable storage boxes are useful anywhere around the house, nowhere is it more effective than in the pantry. Invest in some good quality modular storage to keep your food fresh and your pantry organised. Having a good set of storage containers in your pantry will change it from a mess of mixed up items to a stylish set of compartmentalised ingredients. Storing opened ingredients (like flour or cereal) in these kind of containers will also help increase their shelf life, meaning less waste.

With lots of new and innovative storage solutions constantly popping up, it’s never been easier to follow these steps and make the most of the space in your home. There’s no house too small if you use a big imagination for simple space-saving.

The kids gave speeches, did number and gave their parents letters. There was one number where the boys did an acoustic medley. There were song numbers too, complete with arrangements done from a mpc fly! It was very nice day for everyone – it really made me thankful and proud that one of my kids is moving to high school and ending his elementary years with flying colors!
