Acne can be such a pain. Most of my friends who had to deal with it had to go through years of expensive visits to the dermatologist and another set of expenses for laser treatments to get rid of pimple scars. There is a new way to treat acne called blue light therapy. It is said to be more convenient, less painful and considerable cheaper. I have yet to hear from those who have really tried it though, I hope it’s that good and effective.

Vacation Time

In a few weeks’ time, my eldest will be out of school officially and will be in summer break. The husband and I have talked and he will be taking a two-day leave in May so we can go on an out of town trip. It’s not going to be a trip to the Outer Banks rentals unfortunately, but I am excited that the husband agreed to go on a trip. Now, if only I can book one that would coincide with our youngest’s birthday.

Ever since my son got into third grade and had an English teacher as his adviser, I noticed that he slowly got rid of his public speaking anxiety. In fact, he is often chosen to be the chosen speaker in their grade level in functions and programs. I don’t even have to coach him or practice with him – he does these things on his own. He just lets me hear it twice before I watch the program but he has it all polished out. I am one proud mommy!

Getting Back to Reading

One of my goals this year to get back on my reading. I have not read books for almost a year and a half, ever since I stayed at home to take care of the kids. I thought I would have more time to do the things I wanted, I was dead wrong! So this year I want to get back to a few things I do for myself, like pampering myself at the salon every now and then and reading. I have read three books since February, not bad considering how busy I am these days. It’s going to be expensive buying books though so I need to be picky with my choices.

Busy Week Ahead

I need to finish going over the life insurance policy proposals before I head out to the city, meet friends and go to parties this week. It’s going to be a busy week ahead with lots of pending work needed to be finished by Friday. I think I would not be getting that much sleep! I am excited though, I havent had a day-off in months!

No Weddings

Surprisingly, we didn’t receive any wedding invitations this month. Usually February is a busy wedding month. I gather since most of my friends are already married we would not have that much weddings as five years ago. I am excited though when my daughter gets invited to be a flower girl in weddings. I hope she gets to be 10 times the flower girl I was I was only a flowergirl ONCE!

I watched an episode of House MD before where two kids were admitted because they have an oversupply of testosterone in their bodies – the girls gets crysts everywhere, menstruates early while the boy goes into rage over the littlest things. One would think they had testosterone booster based on the results of their tests. It turns out it was environmental exposure as their father uses enhancement creams which he just took from a store, not checking if it was FDA-approved. He leaked testosterone in his skin!

Simpler Life Back Then

I talked with a cousin of mine who would be entering college next schoolyear. As she was talking about her problems, I cant help but notice how life without kids or when you were younger were simpler. All you ever have to worry about is passing exams, getting high grades, being accepted by your peers, which acne pills to take or what clothes to buy. Money, relationships, fulfillment doesnt take a deeper meaning not until sometimes it is too late to make any changes.

Detoxifying the Body

I have been feeling more sluggish the past few days. I noticed that I feel so tired and would just like to sleep. I have ruled out pregnancy so I am thinking I need to detoxify my body from too much sugar and caffeine. My joints are aching and I feel so tired all the time. Home Acne Remedies

I looked up some acne home remedies over the net to help a neighbor’s teenage son clear up some of his zits in time for Prom next week. He is allergic to most steroids so ointments will not do. Home-made is our best bet.

According to an article I read online:

For acne you can use a combination of brown sugar and milk. Just add enough milk until it makes a paste. Then put it all over the area you are exfoliating. Let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it off with a warm wash cloth. When you are done if you have black heads or other acne issues put lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub the area. If you tend to get dry skin do this same thing only with milk.
