To-Do List

My favorite thing to do and write about are lists.

I so love to be able to write everything in an organized way and feel such a great accomplishment when Im able to cross it off my list :)

So here is mine, to be accomplished today (since it is already 1:30AM).

1. Draft to-do list for the house (one area per day).
2. Set up a mock station for myself. I think the reason why Im so depressed is that my need for organization and seeing all my stuff in one place is not happening. I need to do something about it tomorrow.
3. Set up G’s space - use cooling pad, clean, install sheet protector.
4. Buy some ink pens and art materials for the kids. Get some schedule going for them (crafts, play time, etc.)
5. Post menu plan at the ref.

Remember to breathe.

Of Hobbies and Addictions.

I have to confess Im not a very good person when it comes to dealing with money. Im an impulsive shopper and really do not know how to save and budget things. I think it is SLIGHTLY better than being addicted to drugs or alcohol (then Id need to go to alcohol rehab) - but shopping has always been a weak point for me. I need to control myself since I dont have my own money starting this month.

*sigh*
Any tips?

SPF90.

One of the things I really have learned living here for two weeks (I learned the hard way) is to put on sunblock - every freaking day. I need to use SPF90. You can read more of my lessons here. I know skin cancer is not the same as mesothelioma, but it is still cancer, people! So now Im on the lookout for a nice sunblock that is light, pretty affordable and very effective :). All my skin can tolerate are hypoallergenic products. So the one thing that comes to mind is VMV SPF90. Off to the mall tomorrow.

Re-charged

That is me after getting myself my me time (surfing the web for half a day without interruptions).

I feel like I have caught up with “everybody” (my online friends) and accomplished many things. I realized how much I depend on the internet to keep me connected to the world. Sounds scary to think about it.

Anyhow, Im now updated with the news, my daily dose of Korean dramas, Hollywood pap, nursing forums, toddler center stories and surfed the web with possible scrapbooking layouts.

Im good.

Me Time.

After 10 days, me time - minus the kidlets - at last.

Im now at the office trying to tie up loose ends before my resignation takes effect by tomorrow. My officemates are treating me out to lunch today and tomorrow and I plan to eat all the food I will have a hard time looking for once I retire to the ‘burbs again. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t regret resigning from my job - it’s just being a mommy without a nanny, taking care of two kids - I need a day off too.

So now, Im enjoying a bit of uninterrupted time of surfing the world wide web before I finally buckle down to work.

Me Time.

Finally.
I get to be able to finally enjoy my coffee and net time today. The baby woke up at the ungodly hour of 6AM demanding for milk but so graciously slept again. I had to force myself to get up though. I promise to use my dad’s treadmill here. A treadmill that is soon to be mine! I asked for it last year jokingly, when we were planning to move to the area, and my dad said yes.

I had time to practice on it yesterday and came to one conclusion - I need shoes. Good running shoes. It is a good thing that I was able to find a very informative article on tips on the types of running shoes and what is good for flat-footed women like me (who are also obese).

I have long been a Nike Fan so naturally Id like Nike Shox - most especially when they are discounted AND in pink:

Pink Nike Shox

However, Id heard great things about the Adidas a3 Cushion Shoe and am tempted to give it a try.

Thanks to the article I read, I found out flat-footed women like me need motion control running shoes or high-stability running shoes. And a search on those categories led me to this:

AdidasTR14Running Shoes

It’s the Adidas Women’s Response TR 14 Running Shoe.

Goodbye Nike.
Hello Adidas :)

Day One: Life in the Suburbs

We are now staying in the suburbs. The daughter is sleeping so I can finally have some me time with technology. Internet has not been connected yet at the house so I get my internet fix at my parents’ house five minutes away. One thing I need to adjust with here is how people say some place is so near yet it really is far, and that by near, you can be qualified to walk as long as one can run on track. So when I say 5 minutes away, I actually mean that it is near but you need a ride to get here. Five minutes is close because there is no traffic (and no cars for that matter). My agenda for the day is to have the doorknobs replaced and the lightbulbs installed (see earlier post). When we moved yesterday, I realized I cannot live with a gate that is as high as my son’s height. People in the suburbs are generally friendly (and nosy) that I would freak out if a neighbor leans over the gate to make small talk. Trust me, Im anti-social on that aspect (Leave me alone! :D) On the other hand, the husband is making friends here and there - too bad he wont stay during weekdays at home since he still needs to work in the city. Appliance Parts for cooking needs to be bought this week too. We need a gas range stove and the tubes that tie it to the gas tank - so I can finally cook.

I think the move will be harder for me than I thought. It is a big thing to move houses, but to move house to a different setting, quitting your job, doing more demanding work as a stay-at-home-mom with no maid at all and with nosy neighbors….ack. Im so negative.

But during these days, I think Im allowed to be at some point one time or another.

Ive Been Scarce

Lest you think I have been drowning on a sea of boxes - nope. I still have to work. And I need to manage the Excel Budget Sheet so we can survive for the next two months - with house expenses and school tuition due by June.

Ill be back when real life gets easier.

De-Cluttering

This week has been a real pain in the a**. Im still sick, my throat is so sore and I have no voice. Add to it is the fact we need to move out by mid-month, so Im slowly but surely trying to declutter stuff.

So while Im surfing the world wide web (it seems this is the only place I can ever get to surf in the next five or so years), I stumbled upon the Clutter and Creativity Quiz for artists.

So I tried it and scored a 28:

Your clutter could build to an unmanageable level if left unchecked. It might already be blocking your creativity in some ways. Now that you’re aware of it, you can work at increasing your awareness and applying some strategies to start clearing it out.

Here are some of the tips I gathered:
Clear the Clutter from your Creative Life

PHYSICAL CLUTTER
One simple method to get the physical clutter out is to create three piles (boxes are helpful), labeled: Give away, Throw away and Put away. You can add other categories if you like (i.e. recycling, repair). (I should really do this with our move!)

Sometimes it’s need to manifest on the outside.

First.
Before you see it on the inside.

With all the changes happening in my life, I got fed up and cut my hair. Yes, around six inches of it. The hair Ive been growing long so I can curl it is gone.

I guess I need to have some solid proof that I can TAKE change.
Having my hair short is one of them.

And I like my change.
Not sure if I can tackle the other changes as easily.
God-willing, I will.

And a little trivia, I copied Katie.
