Before you start calling <a href="http://www.goldwasserrealestate.com/”>Austin realtors to sell your <a href="http://www.goldwasserrealestate.com/”>Austin real estate property, there are some things that you can do to make sure that you can get the best price for it. Below are just some tips to help you out.

    * The first thing you need to do is to prepare yourself emotionally. Your house holds a lot of memories and selling a house can be heartbreaking for some people. Slowly try to dissociate yourself from your house. Remember that all your memories will go with you when you leave.
* If you are emotionally ready to sell your house, then it is time to de-clutter it! There are a lot of Austin homes for sale in the market and you want to sell your house for a good price. Remove all the junk you have acquired over the years and clean like you have never cleaned before.
* If there are some minor repairs that need to be done, it will be a good idea to do them now. Any buyer would prefer houses that do not need any work done. Also, houses that need some repairs sell for a lower price.
* The exterior and interior of your house are equally important to any prospective house buyer. Make sure that your yard is clean, the lawn is trimmed, and there are no junk and trash lying around outside.

I am so crippled. I really need to learn how to drive. But I need to get better at following directions first. Maybe I need a Garmin GPS first. Imagine this: I need to go to the store, 45 minutes away by public transport AND I need to bring the kids (no one left to take care of them) – and then it rains. HARD. I can’t postpone the trip because it is the princess’ milk that we ran out of.

When we moved from the city to the mountains (as well call it, we just moved to the suburbs – the very far suburbs!), it was like experiencing a cross country move. Not only did we experience environmental changes, there were more lifestyle changes that we need to adapt to. It was quite overwhelming, being in a new place, adjusting being a homemaker instead of a career woman, and being completely on your own but it was worth it. It made me remember when my sister-in-law did some cross country moving too, from Chicago to California just last year. They did the move by land because they had three kids and was in convoy with the mover trucks. East coast to west coast – wow!

I saw two elderly women yesterday walking along together at around 8PM. Given where we live, that’s late into the night already. I got worried for them since we don’t have that much streetlights and our main road is a highway into one of the busiest cities in the area. Speeding vehicles might run over them without even noticing.

It is sad how lacking our country is with regards to elderly care. Our tradition of having extended families into our care is good and have nice intentions, but we have to be realistic when we can no longer take care of our elders at home. It would be better to find them a find a nursing home.

There are a lot of different nursing home services that can be suited to your elderly. There are skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities and in-home health care. Skilled nursing facilities or SNFs are actually what you can call “mini-hospitals” as they provide an extensive range of services from dietary, medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, and activity services as well as support with day-to-day living functions such as dressing or bathing. Most elderly people with Alzheimer’s Disease would need this. The intermediate care facilities doesn’t always have access to licensed medical professionals but they are required by law to have them present at least eight hours a day.

Robinson’s Supermarket opened a few weeks ago. This one is in Tagaytay, right in front of Josephine’s, so it’s nearer (and of course nicer). The whole area I think will be a lot like Blue Wave – there’s going to be a coffee shop, some restaurants and on the second floor there is a dental clinic, a facial spa and holy moley, BPI! LOL (I can finally have a bank near me!). All of these are still closed save for the supermarket, Handyman, Shakey’s and the dental and facial clinics. Hopefully they can open by the end of the year.

We usually go to Waltermart to get groceries because it’s nearer than SM – now we can go to Tagaytay all the time and save on gas (and everything else).

With what I think had zero happenings. I swear each weekday goes by at snail pace and then when weekend hits it’s like a tornado happening. I better learn pacing myself.

There’s only two months left until Christmas! I still have a dozen plans to firm up. I need to decide what kind of decors we will have, our family clothes (we usually color coordinate on family dinners which actually happen around 5 times all around the holiday season), and lastly, our schedule. Since we live in the province, going to Manila can get expensive. So we need to cluster activities so we can save on gas. That’s why I am trying to research on activities I want the kids to see in Manila.

Plus we need to order the furniture and install wirings for the house. Im not really sure about the wires and the network Edil plans to use to connect the PC to the TV and have wi-fi and all (it involves used cisco wires I think) but I need to nag him about it too.

The nice thing about living in the suburbs is the wide space between houses. It is common here to have a small house with a wide open lawn and garage that can fit it three cars. I love that the kids have plenty of space to run around and enjoy themselves without having to go out on the road and risk themselves getting hurt. I do have one complain though. The garages here do not have roofs, making it hard to get in and out of the car when it is raining. And it has been raining a lot lately. People here can have carports installed. I think this will be easy to do, economical and will really be useful in the long run.

Somebody asked me how I got such nice indoor lighting in our house – my pictures of the kids have such nice lighting. While there are admittedly good shots, I go through trial and error in getting those using the manual mode. I dont shoot in Auto anymore because I want to learn. They are not perfect shots. I have under and overexposed photos taken all the time. But when I do get the perfect shot, it is all nice. When indoors, I crank up the ISO shoot in 1/10 (this results in blurry action shots) and put on all the lights. WB is on auto.
