The husband is home so we managed to talk about what would be our big expenses for the month. So far, we decided to do some maintenance on our vehicle, upgrade Matthew’s bed to a double deck and just order the study table. We will also be making sure that we get connected to the cable by early next month too. Aside from that, I am still trying to convince the husband to get the kids their annual check-ups. He wants me to wait up until we receive our HMOs by March but the OC in me just wants it to be done this month, as I was used to. We are trying to be healthy too, the husband and I, since we are not getting any younger. It’s a good thing we really do not need monthly medicines or adult acne treatments so we save a lot.

Here are a few ideas.

1. Pass some along to the grandparents.

2. Use it as gift wrap or as cards.

3. Rotate the best artwork in frames.

4. Keep clutter boundaries with a designated bulletin board.

5. Keep storage boundaries with a designated box.

6. Take photos of the art.

7. Toss it. Teach kids the value of decluttering.

When push comes to shove, a lot of your kids’ art is more for the process of creating than for the result. It’s okay to throw away some of their art. In fact, it’s fine to toss most of their art. When you save only the artwork you love, you’re increasing its value. And when you get your children involved in deciding which ones to keep and which ones to save, you’re teaching them the value of giving loved items a specific place of honor, and that it’s really good to not hoard. If you don’t want your kids riddled with a cluttered life as adults, start teaching the principle of living with boundaries now.

All I want for Christmas is a new flat-screen TV and home theater system. Seriously. Not even the lure of a new camera or a new computer can make me want anything more. We have had our share of televisions but we think a new TV system will be good for us since we watch TV all the time – we consider this our way of family bonding. Hopefully there will be a lot of great deals come Christmas time so we can finally buy one.

This reminded me of a friend who was confused most of his life. He even went to a spiritual journey (gay travel) to discover and really decide what his identity is. I am happy to share he has been happy with his partner for a five years now. He is like me, has a cluttered desk but loves organizational items like the ones above The number 4 item will be great for my pictures. Heck all of them are!

This space is very doable with our home. I’m thinking the colors can be replaced with warmer tones and the couch be better looking but everything is perfectly doable. I like the layout of the space. We need a bookshelf like the one on the picture to hold the kids’ and my books altogether.

I’m really trying to be a better homemaker to my family, especially since I stay at home even if I work. My main concern though, to be able to do the things I need and want to do, is to have energy. Being obese can drain a lot of energy so I need to lose weight and build more muscle. I need Spawn supplements for that.

When we had termite exterminators go to the house, we found out that the termites have invaded a part of my bookshelf and ate a few of my nursing books and went as far as creeping under our bed mattress. So for almost a week now we have been sleeping on the floor with mats . It has been an adventure though. We finally went to the store to inquire about bed frames and we will be ordering beds for our rooms. We figured we can get by with cheap mattresses for now. If we can afford sleep number bed, that would be heaven but unfortunately we can’t. Maybe by next month we can buy better mattresses, Im excited to get new beddings for us.

Erase a $10K credit card debt (with an average interest rate) 65 percent faster — and pay 75 percent less total interest — when you pay double the typical minimum monthly payment.
52. Download security software like Stopzilla to keep a lid on computer pop-ups.
53. Around 23 percent of people pay late fees on bills they cannot find.

Because You Can Get Something Back
54. Return six MAC Cosmetics containers to any MAC store and receive a free lipstick.
55. Trade in an old iPod and receive a 10 percent discount on a new one.
56. Coinstar.com
Easily convert spare change into "real" money.
57. Craigslist.org <b
Running shoes should be retired after 300 to 500 miles in order to prevent injuries.
66. Deep-six your toothbrush every three to four months.
67. Say goodbye to the dried-out remnants of your favorite no-longer-available lipstick, and check out threecustom.com, T.J.Maxx stores, or Lancome’s beauty bye-bye program for replacements or duplicates of discontinued cosmetics.

Because You Don’t Want to Suffer from "Stuck Song Syndrome"
77. And these five tunes are among the most persistent: Chili’s "Baby Back Ribs" jingle, "We Will Rock You," the "Mission Impossible" theme, "YMCA," and "It’s a Small World After All." (Tip: Try drowning them out with classical music, which is less likely to haunt you after it’s turned off.)

Because the Last Thing You Need Is More Paper Lying Around
78. File your taxes through an authorized IRS e-file provider.
79. The Bronx, New York, man who, in 2003, was trapped in his home under an avalanche of books and newspapers for two days before being rescued.

Because If They Said It, It’s Probably True
90. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." -Leonardo da Vinci
91. "Less is more." -Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
92. "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." -William Morris
93. "You’ve got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative." -Johnny Mercer
94. "The joy of giving is indeed a pleasure, especially when you get rid of something you don’t want." -Frank Butler and Frank Cavett, "Going My Way"

Or Just Because…
95. It has no value, sentimental or monetary.
96. It hasn’t been used in over a year.
97. There is no logical place to keep it.
98. It doesn’t work.
99. An ex gave it to you.
100. And what’s the worst that can happen if you throw it out?

The faucet in the kitchen sink needs to be replaced. The water sometimes doesnt come out even if we have the faucet fully opened. It is a good thing that the owner of the house has told us we can replace, improve or renovate the house and have the expenses deducted on our rent. (I think they dont have money to do the repairs. Oh well, we dont have either! Ha!). Kohler faucets have been the recommended ones when I asked around the hardware store. I just dont know which style the husband wants to so I need to wait for him to make a decision.

I sound like a domesticated, submissive housewife there.
(So not true, by the way).
