Victoria Coffee/End Table
My grandmother is a big fan of wood furniture. In fact, Century furniture, like the Victoria table you see above, is a staple in her home. You cannot even carry a little chair made of walnut yourself – it is so heavy! My grandma loves Victorian furniture but in wood instead of ceramics and porcelain.
If you are wondering what Victoria furniture is like:
Victorian furniture was usually ornate – not plain – they had a piece of furniture for every situation tea tables, hall chairs, parlor chairs, etc. much of the decorations was from the influence from gothic forms with heavy proportions, dark finish, elaborate carving.
It is named for Queen Victoria of England who reigned from 1837-1901 and was the first furniture style of mass production.
