Nowadays, recycling and reusing are foremost in many people’s minds. The goal is to be more environmentally friendly and to lower one’s carbon footprint. Among the many purchases that you make every month, many of them will come in boxes. Instead of throwing away these boxes, below are some ideas for reusing them.

· Gift wrapping. Have you ever found yourself about to wrap an item that does not come in a fixed solid form? Things like clothes and irregularly shaped items can be difficult to gift wrap. One excellent use of used boxes is to turn them into gift boxes. Put the item inside and you will have an easier time wrapping it. Simply add a ribbon and voila – you get a nicely wrapped gift.

· Desk organizer. You can use several different-sized boxes that are small enough to hold office supplies like paper clips, fasteners, and pens.

· Play mat. Big boxes can be excellent play mats for little kids. Simply disassemble the box and lay it flat on the floor. If you do not want to disassemble the box, you can just use it as a container where you can put your kid’s toys when not in use.
