Something Amazing: Pinhole Eyeglasses

imageWhat you are seeing is the best piece of invention made for the eyes ever since laser technology started happening. They may seem a little weird, having holes and making one look like a bee – but if you look closer, it can be a great fashion accessory! These are called pinhole eyeglasses, technically named stenopeic glasses.

These pinhole glasses, named because of the pinhole perforations on the opaque plastic instead of the common lens filter light to make visions clearer. It is claimed to act like prescription glasses, the only difference is you dont have to have your eyes graded. And unlike prescription glasses which are designed to let you see at specific distances, pinhole glasses allow you to have clarity of vision at all ranges of distance.

How does it work?
I found out that basically if you have healthy eyes, you are able to filter direct light naturally. It allows you to see things clearly, so to speak. When eyes get unhealthy, it cannot filter direct light as much and absorbs everything. Once light rays are overwhelming, instead of letting it direct to the back of the retina to be able to see things, it diffuses – giving one a blurry vision. Pinhole glasses help filter the direct light, essentially giving your eyes what they only need.

They were made specifically for people with refractive disorders, making them see things even in low light situations with clarity (I think the husband needs this, he is not great at driving at night). It comes incredibly cheap too, only $19.99, considering you only need one pair for everything – reading, everyday glasses or going in front of the computer for extended periods of time. Plus since it technically isnt lens, you dont need to worry about scratching nor breaking, it is perfectly durable!
