Near Accident

I was in Manila for two days last week, and while we were on the road going home, there was a speeding car that almost hit us at the expressway! Edil was so angry beyond belief. We were on a open jeep and for sure we would be thrown out and our kids will be immediately orphans! The car had a turbocharger which made it obnoxiously loud and had teenagers as its drivers and occupants. I offered a silent prayer to them — I hope they dont make their parents cry!!!

Saving - Scrapping Online Shopping

I have been addicted to online shopping, particularly of digtal scrapbooking kits, since 2005. Thank God for Paypal and authorize.net for keeping my credit card safe. I have made some drastic changes over the past few months to my shopping slash spending habits and I can truthfully say we are saving more and we are able to buy what is really important these days. Even the most comfortable families are feeling the pinch these days - so we better make sure we save for the rainier days.

Promo Promo = Clutter

Edil has been taking home a lot of promotional products like pens, first aid kits, notepads and baby wipes lately. There are even pencils and mugs. These are used as giveaways and promo items to doctors and more often than not, are always in excess. While Im thankful of never ever having to buy a pen for a year, sometimes I get irritated with all the clutter and needless space they occupy! I can even give them away!

I know a millionaire!

A family friend just earned their first million! IT jobs and the call center industry is really the area of work where you can really rake millions these days. They won a contract for a call center and they will be supplying CAT6 cables, VOIP phones, headsets as well as being in charge for the installation of everything else. It is a million contract and I cant be anymore happier for them! Hooray!!! I wonder when we can earn our own million, hee hee…it is free to dream, right?

40 by 2009!

Edil is deadset on helping me lose BIG pounds before the year ends. He has given me diet pills which actually work, though it is on the pricier side (who said beauty is cheap?). It is worth it though. The name of the diet pill escapes me now but Im sure it sounds like Leptovox. Edil will buy more boxes for me and then give some to my Dad who is also obese, has COPD (therefore cannot exercise) and needs it. I am targetting 40lbs by December!

Jolie’s little Nicois twins

It seems Ive been reading Jolie’s twins and their expected arrival in celebrity blogs everyday. It seems the people of Nice, France are thrilled to have little Nicois from such a famous celebrity. Im no fan of Pitt nor Jolie, but have been very fascinated with their jet setter ways and their eccentric family. News reports say that they flew in from Nice using their own private jet charter! I hope that they wont have to go through separation - SIX kids will suffer!

Inflation

With everything experiencing crisis these days with the rocketing fuel prices and rice increases, inflation in the market is very high. Pre-need plans are in the slumps and are getting devalued each day. It is so sad. I was given a life insurance quote a few days ago for 1M. Honestly, what will the value be of 1 million twenty years from now? It just might be worth a thousand bucks with all the increasing prices we are experiencing!

Plans for the Holidays

As early as now, we are talking about what are our plans for the upcoming holidays. Time always has a habit of sneaking up on us, right? With my in-laws migrating to the US, we are thinking of changing our New Year’s plans and holding it somewhere cooler, quieter and with less fireworks. So we might just rent a condo hotel“>condo hotel in Tagaytay. We’d love to book a hotel room, but we might have our relatives from the husband side join us. This will be such a rocking celebration - it is really time for a change :)
