SPF90.

One of the things I really have learned living here for two weeks (I learned the hard way) is to put on sunblock - every freaking day. I need to use SPF90. You can read more of my lessons here. I know skin cancer is not the same as mesothelioma, but it is still cancer, people! So now Im on the lookout for a nice sunblock that is light, pretty affordable and very effective :). All my skin can tolerate are hypoallergenic products. So the one thing that comes to mind is VMV SPF90. Off to the mall tomorrow.

First Swim this Summer 2008.

My kids are so sad.

They havent been able to go swimming ever since summer started because we were so busy with the house move and stuff. Tomorrow, we will be taking them for a swim at their cousins’ place and I really hope they have fun. I still need to buy the Matthew a pair of boardshorts and Martha her new swimsuit. I hope I can take some nice pictures to scrap about afterwards. The husband is going to use the SLR for a week so no picture taking for me. Boo.

We are connected!

WOW. Im so impressed.

I applied for internet wi-fi connection yesterday and the cable company arrived today to get me connected - Im now blogging from the house in the suburbs. WOOHOO! Now, we just need a wireless router because a couple of relatives are arriving next week with laptops - I cant believe how dependent we all are for internet these days.

The better news IS our connection is so much faster here than in the city — that I am literally zooming with the downloads.

I love SMART Wi-Fi (for now). LOL

Plans for Mother’s Day

Rather, Im actually blogging about what are the plans of my husband and the kids this coming Mother’s Day :) LOL.

Let’s see. I think I have dropped so many many many hints to Edil that I want a quality printer - for Christmas, my birthday (last February), even Valentine’s Day - to no avail. He knows I want tech gadgets or something that can support my scrapbooking hobby, so a gift basket is out of the question.

I broached the subject again when we were driving and told him if he doesnt give me the printer, Ill buy it myself - just dont count the money I have towards the house, LOL. It would seem now that he bought it for me, right? HAHAHA!

Me - a Pet Lover?

Ever since we moved here, the husband (and the kids - with the aid of the husband), are pestering me to allow them to bring one of my in-laws’ Dalmatians to the house. We have a huge backyard, and with the husband being gone during weekdays because of work, he says it would be safer to have a watchdog. Ehem. No way. Im sorry but Im not really fond of pets. What about who gets to bathe the dog, the smell, the food (it’s a breed dog so it needs dog food), all the possible dog supplies it needs - a cage, a chain, and everything else?

I might be amenable to a fish, or a parrot, but not a dog. Please not a dog.

Debited.

A sad almost frustrating thing happened today. I attempted to withdraw some money from my savings accounts to pay for my son’s enrollment when my last withdrawal was debited - without the money being withdrawn. So now, I have to call the bank - wait five business days for it to be re-credited to my account. It was a good thing I didnt withdraw a big amount - this can be such a pain, especially since we need cash. One thing I learned living in the suburbs is to always have cash on hand - because ATMs are scarce and unreliable. It is such a big change for me (again) because Im someone who is dependent with online banking and cashless purchasing.

The power of change.
I need to be adaptable to it. Flexible. I can do this.
