The Great Outdoors.

We have been looking at patio furniture lately since Edil was able to finally open the french sliding doors last weekend - it was marvelous save for flies!!! There are a lot lately because of the weather we are having. I can just imagine barbecue grills every weekend. I just hope we can weed out the grass soon - it is getting higher and higher! So many work that needs to be done outdoors!

Lappy Talk.

I have been busy lately - the most over-used excuse of any mom with kids (or anybody for that matter).

I hardly have time to lull and enjoy time with G, my Dell laptop. Lately, I have been reading some focus group discussion threads on recommendations for laptops. I have been a pro-Dell user ever since (even if this is my first laptop) primarily because of recommendations. I am very very intrigued with MAC computers, especially the MACBook Air, but as long as Im going to stay home and take care of the kids, that aint gonna happen.

Anyway, like I said, there is a great article over at ShopWiki on how to pick the laptop for you. There are many things to consider when buying one and the article says to choose one feature that is extremely important for you - is it portability (weigh), space (hard drive), clarity of videos (video cards), internet connection (wi-fi ready), etc. Based from experience (I have a Dell Inspiron 1525), Im pretty happy with my customized laptop - I just should have upgraded my laptop battery. Mine just lasts 3 hrs and needs to be plugged in again - that wont work when Im out.

Wii {we}

This one is a funny one. So the husband comes home yesterday loaded with goodies. He bought Matthew several Yu-gioh notebooks, Marvel comics and a basketball jersey. I got a new phone (slightly used, so I can use my other line), and Martha got nothing. Wait, she got french fries :) (She was happiest about it nonetheless). So after our massage, we sit together doing nothing, just eating leftover fries. He was apparently bored. So he blurts out, “Let’s buy a Wii.” And Im all, “Are you serious?” And then he says, “Of course NOT!” And we laugh. Matthew got all excited about it.

Im seriously going to buy one for us though, I just need to pay some bills and get my application for BON California done. It is cheaper when bought overseas so I just might have a relative (or Glo) buy us one. I was looking for accessories, consoles, games over at ShopWiki. Scrapping boards have Wii threads popping up most of the time so Im fairly excited the mommies like me are also getting hooked!

So hook me up. What Wii games do you recommend? I want adventure Wii games or simulation ones. I just saw a Super Mario Wii game and am beyond excited because this is the ONLY game Ive played when I was a kid :)

And then I learned Wii is pronounced with a long E :)

Renovations

If money wasnt really an issue, we had long renovated the house even before we moved. But the truth is money doesnt grow on trees so we need to learn to prioritize and budget everything. Right now with the rainy season coming, we need to do something with the backyard. I need to have a dirty kitchen installed, roofed, then have some parts of the yard cemented so that it can be converted into a laundry area. The clothesline must be added, and a compost pit created. The list is endless. We have very nice plans for the yard, including getting some teak furniture for it.

I can see it now. Sundays are going to be spent outdoors - no need to go to the malls!

Movies

I havent been to the movies in years!! I havent tried the new theater seating in most new malls. I honestly dont like going to the movies anyways. Id rather wait for the movie release in DVD and then watch it at home - who cares if its not on full-screen and sound surround? At least I can replay it over and over again and be in my jammies (I think Im anti-social that way).

Any movies you can recommend that I need to watch?

Sugar and Spice

With the husband being gone during weekdays, we need to exert more effort in squeezing in quality time when he is here. It competes with the quality time with the children, of course, so weekends are very jampacked and busy busy busy. No, we havent resorted to me donning sexy costumes, hahaha, but talk time is always cherished. Talking in person is always better than talking through YMs, cellphones or emails.

Tub and Bath

Perhaps the only negative I can give about the new house, aside from the water supply, is the small bathroom. Id love to have a walk in dresser, a walk in tub, complete with everything you can see in a hotel and more :) Our bathroom is really small that you can splash water on the toilet when you are taking a bath! A walk in tub would be a dream come true!!

In general, walk-in baths allow for easy access to those who do not usually encounter accessible bathrooms in private homes. By having a walk-in tub, you provide a means for almost anyone to use your bathtub safely and with ease
